Our History

Established in 2002, Aria's School of Music and Art has been serving the musical and artistic needs of Rochester, NY and the surrounding areas of Rochester for over a decade. Owner and founder, Aria Matthews, has long commited herself to excellence in community education by fostering and inspiring the creative growth of all ages, levels, and demographics throughout her teaching career.  Bringing to life the school's moto of 'Fun and Inspiration are Our main goals,' students participate in annual performance and recital opportunities.  Designed as a school for the modern student, lessons are offered in traditional classical techniques, while also utilizing the benefits of popular, jazz, and rock idioms to generate interest and allow for each student to speak with his or her individual musical voice and talent.

Performance and Displays

Aria's School of Music and Art presents two annual recitals locally in Greece, NY.  The recitals serve as an opportunity for each student to demonstrate his or her level of work throughout the year and offers a time for all members of the studio to be present in community together.

Students also have the opportunity to perform in ensemble with one another, with the finale of each recital usually being a multi-student/multi-instrument performance of a popular work.

Displayed at the recitals  are the different works of art created by students throughout the year.  A time of community and engragement, the recitals serve as the proudest moments for families, students, and teachers alike.

In the Spring of each year, students of music participate in the ASOMA Festival.  Judged by local community educators, ASOMA festival serves as a motivational experience for students to have their work evaluated.

With the addition of New Roots Coffeehouse in the school, student art work is displayed throughout the building and viewed by the general public.  Students of Music have many performance opportunities in both the cafe area and outdoor deck. Additionally, we offer Student Spotlights where students performs a collection of pieces they have prepared with his or her teacher.
